For this freelance project, I worked with Level5 Events, a subset of The Expo Group, to develop logos for a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) event called trajectoryX.

The company

Level5 is an event-focused subset of The Expo Group, an experiential marketing group. Level5 cultivates multi-faceted experiences from the ground up, considering elements like empathy, story, and design in the process.

The context

USGIF (United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation) tasked Level5 with developing the creative for the geospatial-focused event trajectoryX. The event was to explore a variety of geospatial topics, from iPhones to drones to space.

Concept 1

Based on the notes from the creative brief, that mentioned a “deconstructed, edgy look” in an event space with “exposed trussing,” I created this geometric, line-based direction. I chose colors that evoked a view of the earth from space.

Concept 2

For the second concept, I illustrated the X in the form of a satellite orbiting earth. Like Concept 1, I used blues and greens to mirror the colors of earth from the perspective of space. I used different shades of the same colors to convey depth in the design.
